Brett's First Rainbow

Last night we loaded the kids up and went to Target. On the way there we saw a rainbow. Not the entire rainbow, just about a third of one coming out of some clouds and touching down somewhere behind the trees. I've been wanting Brett to see a rainbow for some time now, but it has been a couple years since I myself had seen one. I was sooo excited. "LOOK LOOK LOOK!!!" I think I scared everyone in the car, but of course, Brett didn't see it. Brandon and I both were like "Look out your window, buddy" "You see those clouds up there?" and he kept saying "No...I don't see it" It was a little frustrating but finally he saw it. I was so excited and kept looking back smiling at him. "You still see it buddy?" Yes he saw it. And he really didn't care. He was interested in it for about 5 seconds and that was it. That was such a letdown for me. I get more excited about him seeing things than he does. Kindof like when we took him to the zoo and I had been excited for weeks about taking him and he was an absolute monster the entire time, caring less about some dumb animals. I guess that might be how he feels when he is playing with the vacuum cleaner hose and pretending it's something else and telling me to "LOOK Mommy!" and of course, I could care less. Maybe I'll try to act a little more excited over his stuff. And maybe one day he'll get excited over seeing a rainbow.
