Maybe We Won't Try This Again

I took Brett bowling yesterday for the first time ever. We went with our friends Ava and Mrs. Tonya. That was a waste of $18.00! First, Caroline had a fit because she didn't want to put on the bowling shoes. After wrestling her down a few minutes, she decided she liked them. Brett's first bowl was unbelievably slow. I mean, I thought I was going to have to walk down and push it some more or bowl another ball and try to bump it on down. I mean SSLLLLOOOOOOOWWWWW. So after that mommy decided to "help" them. I don't know if that was any better. My right arm and side are a little sore today. Neither of these kids were thrilled at our outing. After about the 5th time Brett said he was ready to go and he never wanted to come here again. Oh well....so much for this bright idea. Caroline would not stay in our aisle. I spent so much time retreiving her from one side or the other. Then when she did stay put, she was enamoured by the ball shooter-upper thing, and I was constantly pulling her hands away from the shute. I ended up bowling their turns as well as mine just so we could hurry up and get out of there. My hand was killing me and I switched to my other hand to give myself a break. After all, we had the bumper pads in the gutter so it didn't really matter. And that's another thing...even when I cheat, I STINK at bowling! Like I said earlier.....maybe we won't try this again!
