What can I say, but I had the most wonderful, relaxing, fun vacation EVER!! The past 9 nine days have been spent laughing, sunning, swimming, catnapping, and my personal favorite....EATING!! The entire trip home today, Brandon and I just kept talking about how much fun we had. Not that we didn't in the past years, but the kids are just at such fun ages now, and it was so enjoyable watching them have fun.
Brett discovered Frosted Flakes this week, and one day ate 3 bowls throughout the day. Caroline fell in love with Oreos and woke up asking for cookies. And she knew the difference between the regular ones and the double stuff! She would say "I want big-un" and then say "cooookie" when she had one in her hand.
Yesterday we tried to squeeze every minute possible at the beach for one last time. Brandon and I rented a jet-ski and had a blast jumping the waves. (Although I am a little sore today from the death-grip I had on that thing. I was determined not to fall off and I succeeded.) Brandon and Brett went and played a round of putt-putt before a late dinner, then both of the kids had their pj's on by the time we left the restaurant. We tucked them into bed and went for a stroll on the beach. I haven't been on a midnight stroll on the beach since before I had kids! It was a beautiful breezy night and we just had a chance to sit there, catch a few smooches, listen to the waves, feel the wind on our faces and look up at a sky full of stars. The verse about the heavens declaring the glory of the Lord came to mind, then I started thinking about how good God is to me. I am sooo blessed and I hope I never take that for granted. It scares me. Brandon and the kids seem too good to be true sometimes. I have everything I could have ever asked for.....and more! Psalm 37:4 has always been a favorite of mine, and He has given me the desires of my heart and exceeded my expectations. I just sat there and prayed and thanked God for His goodness and admired His handiwork. Then I mentioned to Brandon that wouldn't it be neat to see a shooting star while sitting out there on the beach. Not five minutes later, zzzoooooooommmmmmm...there one went, right before my eyes!! It was awesome!! I felt like it was just for me. Like God was looking down and winking at me, giving me a perfect ending to our wonderful vacation.

Oh MY! That sounds like the best of vacations!! I think my favorite picture is the black and white one of Brett and Caroline. You should make it into a 2'x3' picture, frame it and hang it over your fireplace. It is beautiful! I enjoyed your vacation writings...
Now don't forget, print them and put them in their scrap books.
JoAnn
